The Merlion: Singapore’s Half-Lion, Half-Fish Guardian
The Merlion is Singapore’s best-known symbol — a mythical creature with a lion’s head and a fish’s body, standing where the Singapore River meets Marina Bay.
Its lion head recalls the city’s old name, Singapura, or “Lion City,” while the fish tail nods to its origins as the fishing village of Temasek. Since 1972 the statue has spouted water across the bay, framed today by the towers of the financial district and Marina Bay Sands.
For most travellers, a photo beside the Merlion is the definitive “I was here” moment in Singapore.

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery at help@souvenirmagnetshop.com. Please include your order number, a clear photo, and a short video showing the issue. Once approved, we’ll issue a full refund, and the damaged item does not need to be returned.
For other returns, contact us within 30 days of delivery. The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Customers are responsible for return shipping on non-defect returns. We do not offer direct exchanges; please place a new order if you would like a different item.
